Announcing YEPI Entrepreneurship Summit 2019 Pitch Contestants.

On February 9, we’re going to host the Third Annual YEPI Entrepreneurship Summit in sunny Mombasa! At our annual flagship event we showcase a selection of Kenya's emerging startups and come together to learn from some of the most successful African entrepreneurs of our time.

The selected startups have been announced today and is comprised of Janet Mitemi, Founder, Jay Empire, Kenneth Opondo, Founder, Kenjuices and Smoothies, Aisha Mwazuzu, Founder, Alsukaim Ventures and Abubakar Mbarak, Founder Fasta Gas.

These young and emerging entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to pitch their startup to a live audience and esteemed judges, followed by 5 minute questions and answers. Judges will positively critique ideas, provide suggestions, and decide the winner.

"Courage is a factor of being a good entrepreneur, that's why I want to pitch to strengthen my courage. YEPI has been a wonderful experience to me. It brought the best in me. Without them I couldn't have nurtured the dream I had. I hope other well wishers can see the importance of my Idea and help me to achieve my dream." Says Aisha.

Janet Mitemi seeks to gap the bridge of poverty in Mombasa County by making 100% apparel cotton products hence creating employment opportunities for youth.

Kenneth Opondo, a reformed ex-convict, founded Kenjuices and Smoothies to solve health problems and lifestyle related diseases such as cancer, diabetes among others.

Elizabeth Aruba, a third year student at Pwani University, collects clothes destined to the landfill and makes designer African Fabrics to bring out the African Culture and Decency.

Aisha Mwazuzu, a trained lawyer and passionate Agripreneur seeks to end hunger in Kwale County through Maize Farming and value addition in Kenya's poorest county.

Abubakar Mbarak, a Marine Engineer by profession, founded Fasta Gas, a mobile application that links cooking gas suppliers with customers.
